The Langley Gorse Day Nursery building gives us huge amounts of space to create outstanding indoor environments too. We are truly a nursery with environments that help children thrive and flourish.
Indoor Environments
Each of our rooms is packed full of features that provide stimulation, learning and fun. Our resources are natural and varied, with plenty of diversity – allowing us to make sure we can support and encourage every child to follow their own interests and personality in building a nursery life that is ideal for them.
Our high quality equipment is chosen to facilitate learning and development through play and pleasure – a principle that is at the heart of Langley Gorse’s philosophy and practice.
We have a soft and warm neutral colour scheme throughout the nursery, which marries well to our wooden furniture and natural resources.
Outdoor Environments
Our indoor environments at Sutton Coldfield nursery offer so much and are hard to improve on, but it is our outdoor environments where we believe we shine the brightest. We have three acres of vast spaces and an amazingly peaceful rural setting, which mean we imbue a feeling of deep connection to nature.
We fill children with the wonders of the marvellous outdoor world. The garden spaces , which we have added lots of specific features to – such as large climbing equipment, a Mud Kitchen, a large sandpit, a Sensory Garden, a Growing Patch, exploratory play facilities, and dens and cosy areas – form a fantastic outdoor base for lots of different play and development for all ages of children, every day, all year round.
We have a few very special extra facilities though – our newly developed Nature Trail offers pathways and areas for children to explore, create and play. This Nature Trail is in an area of woodland that is attached to the garden – safe and private, but to young minds a whole new world.
We’ve created an area in the woodland for stories and dancing and our children enjoy searching for bugs and insects as well as making potions and using their beautiful imaginations to find what feels like thousands of ways to play with sticks of all sizes – as magic wands, swords, horses, and so much more. We also have a paddock which provides a wonderful environment to picnic in, to devise all manner of imaginative games in, or to rest and relax in together – reading, chatting, telling stories.
We love taking the children out to enjoy our superb outdoor environments at every possible opportunity, as every single day in every child our Practitioners see the benefits of time spent in the fresh air and nature.
